Origin of the Harmony Ball

Harmony balls, also known as chiming spheres or Druid bells, have ancient origins. Though they have deep roots in Mexican and Balinese cultures, their use may be traced back to the ancient Celtic Druids.

Historically, they were made of different materials including metals and certain carved hardwoods and stone, and were highly customized by local artisans.

Description of the Modern Harmony Ball

Today harmony balls are commonly made of some sort of metal. When shaken, a tiny metallic sphere inside the ball bounces around thin metal plates creating a gentle, melodious chime that brings a sense of calm and relaxation.

The 1.8" in diameter brass harmony ball used at Resilience was crafted in Bali.
